29K9 utilizes force free training. Education, science and experience allows us to set up a solid communication first so that the dog wants to learn and enjoys the training. A graduate of and mentor for the CATCH Dog Training Academy as well as Applied Animal Behavior - Washington State, an Animal Behavior College Dog Trainer – Level 2 and Mentor, AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and Therapy Pets Unlimited Evaluator, I have been training in the Morongo Basin and aboard base since 2009. Our family is retired Navy so we also have a special understanding of military life.
Group classes are Sundays at 12:00 at 72041 29 Palms Hwy, 29 Palms CA. Our next class is June 2, 2019.
All dogs must be up to date (age appropriate) on their vaccines. Dogs should be on a 4 to 6 foot leash (non-retractable) and either a flat buckle collar, head halter or body harness (front clasp harness recommended). Handlers should have soft treats, in pea sized pieces, for rewards, water and poop pick up bags.
Basic Obedience class includes the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen test at graduation. This class focuses on communication and basic obedience with leash work.
Puppy Class is the AKC STAR Puppy program and is all about socializing and basic obedience on the puppy's level. We also address nipping, jumping and other pesky puppy challenges. Puppies must attend six sessions to graduate.
These six week courses are $120 which may be paid at $20 each week. Balance must be paid in full to graduate. A $20 registration fee is required to reserve your spot. This fee will be applied to the final class upon completion of the 6 sessions.
The following advanced courses require proof of the dog having received its Canine Good Citizen:
AKC’s Community Canine or Urban Canine test at graduation. Classes focus on advanced obedience with public access lessons. Offsite training sessions required.
Advanced Obedience classes are $150 for the six week course and may be paid at $25 each week. Balance must be paid in full to graduate.
Therapy Dog Training and Train Your Service Dog are priced based on the goals and tasks required. Price to be agreed upon prior to commencing training.
Problem Solving sessions address items such as door darting, food stealing, chewing and are $30 per session.
Behavior sessions address challenges such as resource guarding and reactive dogs. These sessions are $40 per session.
